Every December 23rd (or as the kids say, "the night before the night before Christmas!") the kids sleep under the tree. This came about when they were littler (ever since Jacob was about 4) and Nicole and Jake wanted to sleep under the tree on Christmas Eve. We told them that they can't sleep under the tree on Christmas Eve, or else Santa can't come! So we decided on sleeping under the tree on the 23rd. We've done it ever since; it's one of our lasting traditions. I think this is one that will get handed down to the next generation.

It's the Annual Under-the-Tree Slumber Party!
